Habyt launches new flexible living space in Tanjong Pagar

Kada at Maxwell will likely use a range of openings, involving en suite studios and 2- to three-bedroom units. Each unit has a completely equipped kitchenette. Guests can book spaces on a nightly or weekly basis, with a 12-month option additionally readily available.

A public tender to rent the real estate, now handled by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), was launched in September 2023. The tender was evaluated based upon the bid price and the quality of the proposed idea, and SLA urged prospective buyers to think about creative lifestyle concepts.

The site was granted to Bethesda Medical, that sent a monthly rental proposal of $103,000, the third-highest bid rate after Wan Dormitory ($160,000) and The Working Capitol ($108,240).

The flexible space lies within a maintained 1920s colonial building. The three-storey building, designed by the architectural firm Swan & Maclaren, was one of the very first modernist buildings in Singapore. It was built to house the St Andrew’s Mission Hospital for Women and Children.

Locals of Kada at Maxwell will enjoy endless and courtesy access to the property’s health and wellness facilities, like the performance gym, cold plunge, infrared saunas, jacuzzis and foot bathrooms.

Habyt has recently released a new accomodation area at 5 Kadayanallur Street in Tanjong Pagar. The 18-room Kada at Maxwell is the front runner spot for the operator’s Habyt Flex concept, which represents a strategic growing of the business’s product offerings past extensive co-living.

Wong says Habyt Kada at Maxwell presents the company’s dedication to redefining versatile living in Singapore and notes its change towards the upcoming stage of development for Habyt Asia Pacific. Room rates at Kada at Maxwell will start at $180 per night.

In August, Habyt Asia Pacific chief executive officer Jonathan Wong signalled that the firm was trying to add even more short living options to its local listing. The first properties under the Habyt Flex idea are the 39-room Habyt Novena and the 27-room Habyt Kallang, both started in August. Other properties under the Habyt Flex concept include Habyt Cantonment and Owen Residence by Habyt.

SLA mentioned Bethesda’s solid emphasis on area building and connecting people with businesses as what gave its concept the succeeding edge. The first level is going to include 10 F&B offerings, whilst the second ground will house a gym by Limitless, a wellness facility in partnership with Shiruki Studio, and a co-working room. Habyt’s Kada at Maxwell is on the 3rd floor.

“By blending contemporary conveniences with the ageless appeal of a heritage building, we’re offering guests a special lifestyle journey that goes beyond traditional lodging,” includes Wong.
